Usually food is involved. What do you like doing in your spare time? Maybe go see a show, take the guy to the park. Go on a romantic pegasus ride. It doesn't have to be complicated.

not to knock your background, but it's sometimes simpler to take the ceremony out of it all. People still make plenty of bad choices but at least they're their own, and no one's coming around shaking a stick at them if they try to leave.
